Bored To Tears? I’m Not So Sure

Here are things that I do at GFS when I’m bored and have - I kid you not - three hours to kill. (This is the average amount of time between the end of my classes and the beginning of my rehearsal, and I am never allowed to leave campus. It’s almost enough to make me spend fifty years of my life researching time travel and aging magic so that one day, a bored junior girl can leave campus without being severely glared at by a stern Latin teacher.)

  • Wander around aimlessly. When I do this, however, I assume a thoughtful frowning expression that makes people wonder why I’m so angry. I am not, however, angry at anything, just…moseying. Maybe that makes my subconscious angry.
  • Take over entire tabels in the library with piles of my stuff so that I can lounge around and listen to a mixture of Eric Whitacre and Mindless Self Indulgence.
  • Sit with Andrew outside of the computer lab to observe and mock the programming class going on inside. (This course of action has caused me to cover pennies in shiny star stickers and fumble the name of the language of Thailand*)
  • Buy candy.
  • Interrupt art classes so that I can doodle stupid things on large pieces of paper and make Peter throw his driver’s liscence about the room.
  • Go and visit with the math teachers. I actually did this once.
  • Speed-type my friend’s english homework while she sits beside me frantically watching the clock. She is a very slow typist and I hve macigalc typings skilss, especially under pressure.
  • Draw scary dragons in my assignment book and brood about how bored I am.

A day in teh lief.

*It’s Thai. Who woulda thunk it? I named the penny Sticky Stickery Shiny, under the advice of Andrew.
