My Thirst for Knowledge: Praiseworthy or Obnoxious?
Midway through a sentence today during my lunch period, I realized that I don’t know what sparks really are. So naturally I took off for the science department to locate my favorite teacher and ask him.
I gained both the knowledge of sparks (there are two kinds, even!) and a rather bemused look from my teacher. It causes me to wonder whether I’m intellectually driven or just a smart ass.
Through persistent questions to people smarter than I have learned why Pluto isn’t considered a planet anymore, how old my math teacher is, how genes mutate, how hot a bonfire gets in the middle, the circulatory system of bugs, how the plot of The Terminator is actually feasable, and many other random facts. Did you know that Sherlock Holmes was addicted to cocaine? The liquid kind.
I bet you did know that. I’ll think of something better later.
